Three- Point Lighting Set Up
This is just giving a little information on the set up of the three- point lighting. Telling a little about where it is set up as well as what type of lighting it will give off to the subject.
Back Light
The back light is placed behind the subject and it lights it from the rear. The purpose is to provide definition and subtle highlights around the subjects outlines. It also provides a three- dimensional look. When it comes to my personal opinion about this project I don't think it was too complicated. The set up was fairly easy and so was trying to capture the perfect picture. It a little dark so I would like this lighting too much.
Side/ Fill Light
The side/ fill light fills in the shadows created by the key light so that the light is even across the subject's face. The secondary light is placed on the opposite side of the key light. It is used to fill the shadows created by the key. The fill will usually be softer and less bright than the key. You might also want to set the fill light more of a flood than the key. This lighting isn't even all that bad I feel light you could slightly get a good picture with this as a good side view image.
Key Light
This key light the main light. It is usually the strongest and has the most influence on the look of the scene. It's placed on one side of the camera/ subject so that this side is well lit and the other side has some shadow. The key light in my opinion is exactly what it is named. This is because it's set up in perfect view. It covers mostly everything and you don't have to worry about anything. The key light is definitely one of my favorite light set- ups.
